It's just telling you to go a different direction. You're in a maze. Find the way out. Find the way to what you're trying to do. So, not a door, a maze."<div class="iframe-wrapper"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fm5zaLYCgvY?color=white" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true"></iframe></div>This spoke to my entire soul, because one thing about me? I’m always going to find another way. I’m not married to one way of doing anything. If I have to take another route to get what I want, then that’s what I’m doing. Theres always another route. Always.I am actually a very private person, but when God made it clear to me that one of my callings was helping people, I realized I can't fully do that if I don't share some of my life experiences. I'm in a place where I’ll sacrifice my privacy and share my losses and wins (to a certain extent) to do what I'm called to do.<h3 id="7f99baf3-72a9-4d5d-a79a-c399bf8bfeab" data-toc-id="7f99baf3-72a9-4d5d-a79a-c399bf8bfeab" style="font-size: 20px; font-weight: 600; line-height: 1.2;"> The Pivot That Changed Everything</h3>Can I be transparent and vulnerable right quick? This is my second time living in Georgia, and that first time? 😖 I couldn’t build my hair clientele for a variety of reasons. I worked a job I didn’t love, I struggled, and I was po. You know you poor when you can’t afford to use the “or” 😩. Not living in my purpose and being frustrated was an understatement. So I packed up and went back to St. Louis ✌🏾. Within six months of being home, I had my own salon. Business was booming and life was lit. But even with things going well, I started feeling that pull, like it was time to try Georgia again, or anywhere but St.Louis. Still, I knew I couldn’t do it the same way I did before. I had to figure out a new path through the maze. I had to do things differently to make sure I could sustain it this time around. I had to pivot. This time, I didn’t just move and hope it worked. I had a plan, a vision, and the discipline to do things differently. I wasn’t chasing a new location, I was following a calling, backed by wisdom and a pocket full of lessons.<img src="https://f.ezycourse.net/3612/cm980p8mp0cpesr8zhkt730t7.jpg" alt="image" style="text-align: center; cursor: pointer;">This was me on my 15th day back in Georgia—the second time around. But this time, I came with a plan. I had no idea how it would all unfold, but I knew I was moving differently. What really helped me sustain? Whew... let’s just say I was flying between St. Louis and ATL twice a month,doing hair in both cities. That means I was in the air 4 times a month—sometimes 6 if the month had 5 weeks. 😩 Add in the possibility of turbulence? Yeah—it’s safe to say I was grinding. Putting my life in danger multiple times a month to comb hair. God was with me, baby. But that’s a Pivot Post for another day.Long story short, I adjusted my strategy, tapped into what I learned from the first time around, and stayed committed to my goal. And now? It’s been almost 11 years since I returned to Georgia, and I haven’t clocked in for anybody since. Don’t play with that girl 🤌🏾 I’m sharing this because I know someone reading this might be feeling stuck. Maybe a door closed. Maybe the plan isn’t working. But that doesn’t mean it’s over, it just means you’re in a maze. The first route didn’t lead you there? Cool. Turn left. Double back. Take another path. There’s always another way if you’re willing to shift your mindset and get creative.Don’t get so married to one idea, one method, or one path that you miss your destination. Sometimes your breakthrough is waiting just around the corner, you just have to pivot to get there. ✨ Ask yourself: Am I looking at a wall or am I navigating a maze?
